A support community to help transform your journey as a skilled and effective EDRD...
without sacrificing your peace, stability, and values.
Welcome! I'm Kayla Stanton, MS, RD, CEDS
and founder of The SupportEDRD!
The SupportEDRD serves dietitians navigating the field of eating disorders by providing valuable resources, trainings, mentorship, support, and community. It is primarily designed for dietitians in their first three years of eating disorder practice, but it is open to any dietitian who values the support and resources of a community of like-minded clinicians.

When I first started working in this field, I remember feeling passionate and excited, but it didn't take long for other emotions crowd in. Two I distinctly recall were overwhelm and loneliness. I quickly realized how very little my formal education prepared me to serve this vulnerable population and how much I still needed to learn. I also realized how counter-culture the treatment of eating disorders could be, complicated by the never-ending barrage of diet culture influence in the lives of my clients, family, and friends. I've learned many RDs, like myself, enter this field with a high level of knowledge and genuine passion for helping others, but few are equipped with the skills needed to maintain balance and combat the compassion fatigue and burnout that can easily occur. Through many years in the field, first as a solo practitioner and now as the owner of a thriving group practice, I have a developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by EDRDs and the personal and professional impacts of navigating the field without these skills. I also know the IMMENSE reward that comes with helping our clients find their peace and well-being while also preserving our own... and through The SupportEDRD, I'm here to help you feel the same.

You provide outside perspective that I wouldn’t have thought about and always offer another helpful point of view when I’m too zoomed in and am forgetting things I already know I know.
- Ruth, RDN, LDN
I am more confident as a provider. I experience little to no anxiety before sessions whether they be initials or follow ups. I used to prep and plan exactly what I would talk about with clients prior to each session, but now I am able to roll with wherever the conversation leads.
- Megan, MHS, RDN
Honestly, I have gone through some really tough situations with this job and I don't think I would have stuck with it if it wasn't for your emotional support and tactical support. You have given me the steps I needed to take and validated my worth as a RD and person.
